Hi, I’m Steve!

Hi-Country Paperworks was established in Austin, TX by super friendly and native Texan, Steve Vaneman. Steve is a third-generation wallcovering installer. Steve learned how to install wallpaper early on from a renowned trade master, his father, David Vaneman. David first learned how to hang wallpaper from Steve’s grandmother’s wallcovering company in Houston, TX in 1971. First observing David on jobs while he was just a toddler, Steve started mimicking his dad, even resting razor blades between his lips.

Steve has been installing various wallcoverings, painting, and finishing drywall since before he could drive! Steve is a local Austinite, who loves, lives, and plays in Austin with his amazing wife, Lauren, and their furry, four-legged children. When not hard at work, you can usually find Steve at the gym, or the yoga studio, or bathing in one of Austin's 300+ sunny days getting some good ole vitamin D!

Hi-Country Paperworks was founded because there is a serious need for masters in the wallpaper trade! Steve is in homes and businesses every day and has seen sub-par workmanship. It was time to take charge and show people how beautiful their interior spaces could be!
